What should I bring?
Although every day and every charter on the water requires a different set of equipment based on your activities, there are a few tried and true items I wouldn’t be without. Sunglasses are a big one, even on a cloudy day forgetting your glasses can be miserable. You should have comfortable layered clothing suitable for the days expected weather. Any snacks, beverages, or items to make your groups charter more enjoyable are welcome. Remember any required medications, sunscreen, motion sickness medication ect. Don’t let your day be cut short by something preventable! Transport Canada approved life jackets are onboard for all guests but you are welcome to bring a PFD of your choice if you feel more comfortable wearing one during your time on board. Children 12 and under are required to wear PFDs while underway, please let us know if your child does not have their own when booking and we will provide one.
What is required for a fishing charter?
When booking a fishing charter with us we look after every aspect from start to finish, providing an unforgettable angling experience. Aside from what’s mentioned in the above section, all that is required of you is a BC Tidal fishing license with a salmon stamp available here Pacific region fishing licences | Pacific Region | Fisheries and Oceans Canada (dfo-mpo.gc.ca).
Where do we depart from and where can I park?
We operate out of Comox Marina Park centrally located in the Comox Valley. We pick up and drop off guests at the boat ramp dock located below in yellow. This facilitates easy loading and unloading gear, bikes and paddle boards. You may drive to the dock to load/unload gear but please do not block the ramp for people launching boats. Free parking is available in the area shown in green, the streets surrounding the marina, and Comox Center Mall. Parking in the areas shown in red is prohibited and could result in your vehicle being towed.
Are Alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis allowed on board?
Responsibly, yes. Consumption of alcohol is allowed on board within reason. Tobacco and Cannabis must be consumed on outer deck. At Frontier Adventure Charters we want you to have a fun filled day with us however you like to responsibly enjoy yourself. We are far from party poopers but the captain reserves the right to end a charter early and block future bookings if guests become disrespectful or unsafe.
Can you provide paddle boards or bikes?
Yes, we can rent you paddleboards for $45 per day. They come inflated, with paddle and PFD. Mountain bikes, cruisers, and e bikes can be rented through many local bike shops. Let us know what your looking for and we can have everything ready for you at the dock
Do you operate in areas outside of the Comox Valley?
Yes we do! While we primarily operate in the Strait of Georgia based out of Comox we are mobile and experienced exploring and fishing many of BC’s most coveted remote destinations.
